In West Central Illinois, the Mississippi and Illinois rivers bound an area known as the "Golden Triangle" of whitetail hunting. This area includes the famed Pike County, ranked #1 in Illinois and #2 in the world, as well as six others that are in the top 10 counties for numbers of whitetails entered into the Boone & Crockett record books.
The state's sizable deer herd rarely suffers a food shortage due to the large amount of natural and agricultural food supplies. Since those same food supplies are high in protein, the superior genetics and older age class of bucks that the state of Illinois is blessed with should once again be fueled for top end antler growth this fall. Of course, that should come as little surprise to anyone familiar with the world class headgear of Illinois bucks. Don't be surprised if another monster is taken this fall like Mel Johnson's 204-4/8” world record Pope & Young Club typical or Jerry Bryant's 36-point 304-3/8” non-typical that ranks #4 all-time in the Boone & Crockett records.
We offer hunts in the top producing counties of Pike, Adams, Brown, Schuyler and Calhoun. The highest concentration of B&C bucks per square mile are in these counties! Licenses are offered through a draw, but since 2000 we have had nearly 100% success. We offer archery, limited firearm, and combination hunts in all of these counties. Our farms have a minimum buck size of 140” for archery and gun, and we encourage you to also shoot a doe should the opportunity present itself.
All hunts are non-guided, with clients being allowed to hang their own stands. The cost of the hunt includes detailed maps, aerial photos, and a property orientation upon arrival. Rut dates book early, so please call 513-477-6863 or contact us now to book your Bowhunting Whitetails.com hunt today!
